On Tuesday afternoon we headed down to the most talked about location in the world today, London's 2012 Olympic Park, as guests of BMW to check out their quite remarkable river-based Pavilion.
The awesome structure appears to float on the river, with water flowing down the sides, giving it a constantly changing facade, whilst simultaneously accentuating its position on an elevated platform on the Waterworks River. The two storey interactive experience is expected to draw thousands of visitors a day.
With water playing a central role in the design, The Waterworks River provides the water, which is filtered and used to cool the building as it flows down the walls, before being returned to the river in an incredible display of technical innovation and sustainability.
Conceived by an award-winning architecture firm, the BMW Group Pavilion has been delivered almost to the minutest of details, becoming a genuinely standout attraction in the Olympic Park. Its main purpose will be to showcase some of BMW's latest vehicles against the backdrop of the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre.
Vehicles on show at the Pavilion include BMW's innovative and breathtaking BMW i3 and i8 concepts as well as the MINI Rocketman concept and the awesome BMW E-Scooter.
The Pavilion will welcome guests to an intimate cinema space to view a special film before being offered the opportunity to view the nine individual rooftop pavilions displaying current and future BMW group vehicles throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games to all Olympic Park visitors.
