“The music mogul – who got engaged to the make-up artist almost two years ago – says they’ve decided to spent some time apart and he isn’t sure if they will ever get married.”

We would say it’s a shame but what is a shame is all the ratings X Factor get and the ‘talent’ it discovers #management

Why are they on a break? Didn’t she want to sign a prenup? Did one of his other ‘friends’ speak up on something? Speculation, speculation.

Leona Lewis' new single Collide has been met with a generally approving nod when it debuted this weekend but that could well be because it was stolen from Ministry Of Sound producer Avicii.

Leona Lewis’ new single Collide has been met with a generally approving nod when it debuted this weekend but that could well be because it was stolen from Ministry Of Sound producer Avicii.

Leona Lewis debuted her new single Collide this weekend, which you can hear below.

Ministry of Sound artist Avicii aka Tim Berg, contends that Leona’s Collide is a rip-off of his new single Penguin, which you can hear below.

A source close to Ministry of Sound offered “Ministry of Sound signed Avicii a year ago and have been working on vocal ideas for over 6 months on the track. Pete Tong, Annie Mac, and Scott Mills have been playing Penguin for months now, but this week we’ve realised Simon Cowell and Leona Lewis have stolen our record. Collide is identical to Avicii’s track!”

Avicii himself responded to the similarities via Twitter “To answer everyone, the first time I heard Leona Lewis Collide was today. I didn’t produce it and neither me or my manager could approve it… I’m just upset for someone taking credit of our idea before I had a chance to release it… And for the time and effort that has been put into this by my manager and label”.

Avicci’s manager Ash Pournouri, spoke via a statement, offering “We never got to hear the track before it was promoed on radio, how could we clear anything? We’re not amateurs – we don’t sign papers without knowing what [we're] getting into.”

Described as “super talented” by Simon Cowell, James Bellamy is one to watch this year with his R&B lead sound and new single My Love. We caught-up with James to talk about his style, his time on the West End stage and his time on X Factor.

Describe your style of music.

It’s R&B-fusion, because I have such an eclectic music pallet. I’m very inspired by Reggae and Gospel so I really go in with my harmonies, being more elaborate with them and blending the old with the new.

You made it to the judge’s houses on X Factor but that’s where “the journey ended”. Despite Simon Cowell saying “You’re super talented you are”, did you see yourself going this far?

To be honest, yes! I did! Though it was heart wrenching, I thank God for everything that happened, through the whole journey I learnt so much.

What happened after X Factor?

I was working with loads of labels and companies, but my heart wasn’t in it, so I wasn’t really producing my best work or taking it as seriously as I should have. So that’s when I took to the West End stage [James was in Dancing In The Streets] and it was through this I learned so much about my craft.

And you’re set to release your single My Love (Say You Want It) on 27 June.

I’m really excited. Actually, excited doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel. To see your vision take shape and come to life is amazing, so much of who I am went into the video of My Love, so when you watch the video you’re seeing a glimpse into my quirky world. But My Love is just the beginning. My aim is to really open the eyes of the world to UK talent, especially male singers.

Ras Kwame says that you’re an “artist going places”, so what are we to expect from you next?

Well I’m working on my EP Superhero Chronicles and my new track Hard As Nails (H.A.N.). is produced by Rio Flawless and features a few people, like Young O. It is off the chain!

What can we expect from the My Love promo tour?

You can expect a lot! My inspirations are people like Michael Jackson and Beyoncé, both are people who bring so much energy and presence. That’s the kind of feel I wanna bring on tour, so expect there to be dancing, rapping, fans on stage and just a crazy experience.

You’ve written for people like fellow X Factor contestant Duane Lamonte; who are you working with on your own projects?

Young O, Courtney Bennet, Dray, RTI and so many others. They have such skill and I want everyone to notice what I see in them.

Your mixtape Superhero: The Beginning; has had good feedback…

I’ve had a phenomenal response from my fans. I am so grateful for all the love; it brings a huge smile to know people are enjoying what I’ve poured my creativity into. It’s also hugely encouraging when the main feedback is that they want to hear more.

My Love is out now [buy right here]. Check jamesbellamymusic.com and @jamesbellamyuk for more info on James Bellamy.

Legendary industry executive L.A Reid is said to have accepted an offer from Sony Music and Simon Cowell to leave Def Jam at the end of the year.

L.A Reid is one of the most respected executives in the music business having founded LaFace with former band-mate Babyface in 1989, he went on to oversee the careers of global successes Outkast, TLC, Usher and Toni Braxton before taking over LaFace’s parent label Arista where he saw great success with acts such as P!nk, Ciara and Avril Lavigne. A massive industry shakeup in 2004 saw Def Jam’s head honchos Kevin Liles and Lyor Cohen move to Atlantic leaving room for L.A Reid to become the company’s Chairman and CEO. One of Reid’s first acts was to secure the services of Jay-Z as the label’s president and by proxy maintaining Jay-Z’s interests in previously signed Rocafella Records artists. As Def Jam CEO; L.A saw colossal hit records from Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and the aforementioned Jay-Z. In recent months Reid was responsible for bringing Jennifer Lopez, Shyne and N-Dubz to the label.

It’s being reported by Billboard today that Reid’s 7 year stay at the legendary hip-hop label is to end this winter with the Ohio born executive set to take a new position at Sony Music which will include a position as judge on Simon Cowell’s X-Factor. There have been rumours of an executive game of musical chairs akin to the one in 2004 that saw L.A take his position at Def Jam for some months.

We just hope this doesn’t affect the U.S launch of our N-Dubz.

Is Mr Cowell just talking out of his backside? Or does the best talent really come out of the US.

We’ve become quite used to Simon Cowell’s insults after watching him on almost every talent search competition since the new millennium, but saying “the US has the best talent in the world”… Erm, can someone throw a Jessie J CD at him?
He made this ludicrous statement after discussing his latest talent search show (yes.. another one!) which is an American version of the popular X Factor show, adding after “I believe that with all my heart”. Cool.

Maybe he’s forgetting our erm, much loved Subo is the most successful contestant to come from one of his ‘talent search’ shows.. or that Tinie Tempah isn’t even signed to a US label but is already making his mark (“Written In The Stars” is officially one of the Wrestlemania XXVI tracks) lets not forget Dizzee Rascal, Skepta, Devlin, Plan B, Ed Sheeran, JLS, Pixie Lott, Fatboy from Eastenders … need we go on?

The American version will also include a £3 million prize and an audience of three to four thousand along side Simon’s three panel ‘homies’ will help him decide who to crown. Is Mr Cowell just talking out of his backside? Or does the best talent really come out of the US.

His Royal High-trouserness is very keen to make the US version of X Factor a huge success...

Is Will Smith about to take the show to the Wild Wild West?!?!

Simon Cowell has hit the jackpot, quite literally! He’s signed up the “most powerful actor on the planet”, Will Smith, to judge the X Factor alongside, himself and Cheryl Cole.

“Simon thinks Will and Cheryl will be a brilliant formula.” A source told the Sunday Mirror. “He’s one of the biggest names in America and considered to be a talented musician as well as actor.”

His Royal High-trouserness is very keen to make the US version of X Factor a huge success and has recently signed a deal with Pepsi who will sponsor the show when it launches this September.

Another female judge is yet to be named, it was thought Nicole Scherzinger would take the role after her successful guest appearance in the UK, but it now looks likely the Pussycat Doll will replace Cheryl on the ITV1 show. Interesting…

Blatently one of Britain's top dance troops...we chat to Flawless!!!

Simon Cowell referred to the international award winning street dance act Flawless as “One of the best things I have ever seen in my life … not just the best dance group I have ever seen, one of the greatest acts I have ever seen”. So with that sort of accolade you’d think it would be hard to stay grounded but that’s not the case as Nardene Scott discovers when RWD catch up with choreographer, Marlon “Swoosh” Wallen to see what they have in store for their upcoming Christmas show, next year’s 60 date tour and how much more there is to the dance act than just street dance.

So what have you been up to today?

We’ve been in rehearsals alllllllll day.

What are you guys rehearsing for?

We’re just going to get ready for the Christmas show which is at the South Bank Festival Hall.

What suprises have you got for the show?

Well, we’ve got a few things up our sleeves, we’re quite excited by it because obviously we’ve been performing as a group but doing our own show at the Royal Festival Hall, that’s a big deal. Especially to do that at Christmas as well and we’ve got the Christmas week from the 21 – 23 December.

Okay sounds good and you’ve also got the DVD as well of your live concert tour…

Yeah, it’s like a dream come true and I think we haven’t actually digested what has been going on because everything has changed so fast but everyone is humble and just overwhelmed by the whole situation to be honest with you.

It’s been a bit mad especially since Britain’s Got Talent can you tell us a little bit about that? Has it just been like a whirlwind?

Yeah because when we was on the show we obviously had no interaction with our audience, family or friends because it was so full on, everyone was in the studio getting ready for the show. When we got out to the public was when we did the Britain’s Got Talent tour so then that’s when we realised what sort of effect we had on people and what the perception was like of us. It was just crazy, the tour was a success and a great experience for us and then since then we’ve been travelling all over the world. You know we’ve been in Hong Kong we’ve been working with GQ on a fashion spread. We basically had a DPS for the magazine and that was major.

So what sort of people do you expect at your upcoming Christmas shows?

I’m not even blowing my own horn, I’m being honest we think of everyone when we’re doing our thing, we’re always thinking like okay, What do people want to see? What do people want to hear? We never limit it to be like this is just going to be for one age range. We cater for everone, we’ve got something for the ladies, something for the grandma’s and family and it’s just one of those big shows to come out and chill out with Flawless man.

I know you’ve included more modern jazz and dance into your shows is that part of the reason why?

Yeah, I think normally when people see Flawless perform it’s normally like a 5-10 minute performance or slot where as when we’re doing a big show like this, for us, it’s like a playground but the crowd is new to it because it’s not something we normally do. We’ve got so many individual talents in the group and we can finally let it out and you can see the individual strengths. You can see that the group is more than just street dancers.

Within the group what do you all specialise in?

You’ve got popping and locking, you’ve got B-Boying you’ve got house music dancing, you’ve got contemporary ballet and jazz, you know the list goes on to be honest…you’ve got some african dancing in there and it’s just one of those things where we’re not limiting oursleves to one thing. That’s really what it’s all about evolving and taking things to another level and trying to create things that people have never seen before.

So after Simon’s comments about Flawless being one of the greatest acts he’s ever seen does he still keep in touch with you guys ?

You know what, Simon Cowell has always supported what we’ve been doing from the very beginning. I mean we don’t obviously get to see him because obviously he’s a busy guy but in terms of support and knowing that he will be behind us in whatever we’re doing. I know that if he can come down to the show then he will come down to the show because he’s that very down to earth, humble type of guy.

Flawless have won quite a few titles in their time, as international and national street dance champions, do you ever miss that element?

I do miss it, I mean it’s all about moving forward so obviously I wouldn’t want to go back to competitions. I mean we did it for the simple fact that we wanted to get Flawless recognised that’s the same reason why we did the whole Britain’s Got Talent experience. We wanted to get the national profile, get people into Flawless and what we’re about as we’re kind of striving to become legendary in what we’re doing not just all about the success and the fame, that’s like an accessory for what comes with the workload. Also, it’s about the future as well like inspiring people that want to do anything in their career path whether it’s acting or not that’s why we called our DVD Chase The Dream.

Do you have someone that normally puts the music together for your shows?

What we do is we all select our music, I mean I’m obviously the director/choreographer but everyone in the group has their role of contributing something. Myself and Neyo, he works with me on the music but we all sit down and agree on what songs we’re going to use. So there’s the musical side of Flawless, people that sing, that produce, that MC, there’s just so many things that we do but it’s just one of those things where we are known for our dancing and obviously we’re going to take that and push it as far as we can. However, we’ll always be opening other doors and doing other things like Street Dance 3D getting into acting and stuff.

So what are the plans for 2011?

It’s all about the 60 date tour, that is going to be the next level up from what people are seing this year. We’re posssibly working on Street Dance 2 the movie, there’s a load of things going on, so you know, onwards and upwards.

Chase The Dream is out now and the Flawless Christmas show at Royal Festival Hall runs from 21 – 23 December. You can also follow Flawless on Twitter
