RWD legend Plan B is getting ready to release his directorial debut film iLL Manors in the Spring and today he announced that the film will be preceded by an album of the same name.

Responsible for one of our all-time favourite RWD covers; Plan B can barely do any wrong over here with his two incredible albums The Defamation Of Strickland Banks and Who Needs Actions When You Got Words finding permanent homes on the office playlist. So imagine how excited we are by the news that his directorial debut iLL Manors [we've actually seen it and we can actually confirm it's awesome] will be preceded by an album of the same name, which the rapper/singer/director/actor is describing as “bassline, soul, hip hop.”

Plan B, real name Ben Drew, continued “The album has the lyrical depth of my first record but the musical composition is light years ahead as it’s informed by everything I’ve learnt in the last five years – writing, producing and playing with a live band. I feel I’m better than I’ve ever been.”

iLL Manors the movie hits cinemas May 4, while iLL Manors the album hits shelves May 7.

Our current cover-star and all around musical genius type Labrinth is headed out on his first headline UK tour next week ahead of releasing his debut album Electronic Earth as soon as March 19 and today we were sent the Earthquaking artwork.
