We caught up with Preditah ahead of the release of his highly anticipated Circles EP to talk plans for 2012 and how the instrumental came about in the first place.

Firstly the promo video is a good look, how do you feel about it seeing all of those MC’s on your beat?

Everyones loving that man because it’s something different. Its what I’m all about really, just something a little bit different.

How did Circles come about?

I went to a club and I thought to myself, well, the whole night there was no grime tunes getting played well and I thought I’ve gotta get together a tune that can get played in a club whether its a club or a party or whatever. I went home and I made that in one go really. It took me about two to three hours.

When you was making it who did you want to vocal it?

Basically it was all one tune at first like when it drops in the first 8 bars it was bit too serious so then I added a little happy part to it that everyone can remember like a ringtone and I just kind of thought this blends together nicely. So you’ve got the dark side and the kind of middle side thats why its an 8 bar tune.

What’s up next then soundwise because we hear you’ve been in the studio with everyone?

Something more like Circles where it’s a grime tune but its got played as Radio 1/1Xtra’s big track. I hear kids playing it in college, females like it which isn’t often because they don’t like all the dark stuff, adults like it, like somebody’s single.

For the rest of the year what can we expect from Preditah?

I’ve got quite a few plans but I’d rather keep it natural and leave my manager to make the plans and I’ll do all the beats and continue to push myself  but mainly work on people’s albums a lot this year and female singers.

Which artists are you feeling and hoping to work with at the moment?

Ruby Lee Ryder as far as females, she’s fresh. MC wise, I’m feeling Scrufizzer the most.

Lastly by the end of 2012 where do you want to see yourself?

I just wanna be a household name in the UK like Labrinth. I look up to him a lot he basically broke the rules of pop music because pop was usually just a bit dance and that and he’s just brought the D&B influence into it and I want to push grime further than what it’s ever been because grime has never been that far and I want to be the guy to do it.

Everyone’s favourite home-grown hero, Adam Deacon, has been selected as a finalist for the BAFTA’s Rising Star Award. The Kidulthood / Adulthood / Anuvahood actor and director is up for the award alongside the likes of Chris Hemsworth of Thor fame, and comedian Chris O’Dowd.

This year the 28-year-old will feature in three  films – Outside Bet alongside Bob Hoskins, thriller Payback Season and Menhaj Huda’s Comedown.

It was only a matter of time before the big dawg on everyone’s campus puts his name to what will inevitably be the biggest festival Snowbombing have ever organised. The world’s greatest show on snow have now got the hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg to headline the Snowbombing Festival 2012 as part of the 90 acts on the line up for the snow and music festival in Mayrhofen, Austria, on 9-14 April 2012.

The big boss Dogg is sure to get the festival goers moving with his trademark swag and cool raps.

Snowbombing Founder Gareth Cooper says, “The Doggfather of hip hop has remained at the forefront of popular culture for twenty years. As he’s pure canine cool, we thought it was high time he joined us in the mountains at Snowbombing. After The Prodigy played the amazing forest venue last year, we were nervous about how we could at least match the experience. Live music event Milly’s World is back this month at The Monarch on the 20^th in Camden with performances from The Thirst, rapper Sincere, RoxXxan, Matt Lenshaw and  songstress Sinead Harnett.

The night features some of the best unmanufactured artists in London who are avid with making their own music and not crumbling under the corporate pressure.

Headlining on the night will be rapper Sincere who has in the past collaborated with Wretch 32, Ghetts and Scorcher, to name a few. On the night he will be doing an exclusive set including a brand spanking new release. The night will also feature other up and coming artists like RoxXxan whose spitting style includes elements of dubstep, hip-hop and grime and she’s set to release a mixtape later this month.

Indie band The Thirst will also be doing a few tracks  including upcoming single Damn Girl (check out the video exclusive on the RWD site) to rock Milly’s World.

This project has been tipped as one of the Top 8 ideas in the UK by the design team of epic science fiction film Avatar – Jheeze.

Since Battle Hype dropped on Logan’s Kiss FM show this week, everyone has been going crazy, it’s 10 minutes long, features a lot of the grime scene (in a roundabout way) and it’s obviously rubbed some MC’s up the wrong way, (or just gone over their heads) but hey at least everyone was included this time!

We caught up with the master lyricist Durrty Goodz yesterday where he let us into the fact that the concept behind Battle Hype has been a long time coming, “I made it time ago before Ultrasound but I wanted to set myself up properly before I dropped it”.

Not to be mistaken for the bonus track, Battle Hype which depicts how MC battles would pan out (yes we don’t know where all the sending talk came from either?!?) including a range of MC’s on the scene, Ghetts, Skepta, Wiley, D Double E, Kano, etc.

Former Liverpool and Arsenal football player and all-round rich boy Jermaine Pennant, obviously has too much money; so much in fact that word is he forgot he owned a Porsche?!?!?

Now we can understand forgetting your keys on the coffee table, even forgetting your mates birthday but who in their right mind leaves their very expensive car at a Spanish train station, flies back to England and forgets about it!!!

The Local railway authority notified his former club Real Zaragoza, only to have the player say that he had totally forgotten about it! At least he didn’t say he was Ashley Cole, like when he crashed his car into a lamppost back in 2010.

A spokesman for Pennant who now plays for Stoke City claims that he didn’t forget about it, although it was five months ago since he parked it up at Zaragoza train station?!? So, perhaps he was too busy driving the rest of his super car fleet whilst climbing up League table?

Can you imagine the announcement ”Could the driver of P33NNT, please return to his vehicle?”

Aaron let us into some big collaborations coming up soon, which will surely mark 2011 out as a big year for the hip/R’n’B bassline providers. Known for hits such as Love Shy and providing vocals for What’s It Gonna Be, a collaboration with H20’s 2008 Single which reached number 2 in the UK Charts we’re excited about the Akon/Konvict link up which is hitting our inboxes next week!

Also, Platnum hung out with Drake during a leg on his UK tour, Aaron let us into what could be potentially be another overseas collaboration, “he’s asked us to bring a track with us tonight with a 16 bar space on it, when u hear the beat u’d understand y his ears pricked up!” It all sounds very exciting; we’ll keep our fingers crossed for you!

DJ Ironik was stabbed in the upper leg after attempted robbery but confirms he’s “resting and recovering” after admitting it “could have been worse”.

The rumour-mill went into over-drive on Friday night with the news that DJ Ironik had been stabbed. There are a lot of dark and troubled people in the world so of course nonsense quickly became fact and indeed Ironik was dead, was shot, was unable to speak, was paralysed and finally he was resting a recuperating at home.

While some Daily newspapers have run with the story that Ironik was “tracked via his Twitter” it seems to us that when an artist is performing at a club to 1,500 people, you wouldn’t need Twitter to find out where he was. Maybe that’s just us?

Ironik took to his Twitter yesterday to reassure fans of his well being “Wow. Thank you everyone for all the love & supportive messages.. I have just been discharged from the hospital.” he wrote “Its been a crazy last couple of days and this whole experience is quite surreal. But they say what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.”, “I wanna thank each and every one of my friends, family and supportive fans that have showed me lots of much love!”, “It could of been much worse so thank God it weren’t and I’m just resting and recovering… Love.”

RWD would like to extend our best wishes to Ironik and hope he’s able to get back to what he does best as soon as possible.

Fallout New Vegas barges passed Medal of Honor to claim the number 1 spot in UK sales.

We brought you the news last week that Medal of Honor pushed a respectable 1.5 million units in its first week of sales. The EA title struggled to keep the momentum going this week though with Fallout New Vegas debuting firmly at the top of the UK Charts. Now in its fourth week FIFA 2011 sits comfortably at number 3 while Pro Evolution sits further down the chart at number 9.
