Boxfresh and smart launch their collaborative project  yesterday (May 10^th) at the Future Minds Exhibition, at London’s South Bank.

British streetwear brand, Boxfresh and smart (you know, the little cars) will work together across a number of special projects and product design, throughout their collaboration period.  They aim to fuse together their unique design principles and creative marketing campaigns.

As part of the project, a concept vehicle launched yesterday at the smart urban stage. Designed by the Boxfresh creative team using the smart BRABUS tailor made service in Germany, Boxfresh have handpicked colours, textures and finishes;  body panels feature a sleek matte finish and Boxfresh branding – creating an exclusive design that encapsulates Boxfresh’s signature style. This gives some idea of what is yet to come from these two innovative brands.

Dual marketing campaigns will kick off on today (May 11^th) with an intimate gig played by Boxfresh ambassadors, Man Like Me, for smart. This will be followed by numerous other events and activities for both brands, with a strong emphasis on reaching Boxfresh fans.

Boxfresh, who have just revealed their amazing new Spring/Summer line have been named the official fashion partner of the NME Awards 2011.

British streetwear originators Boxfresh will sponsor the hotly-contested Best New Band category at the Awards, which was last year contested by The Big Pink, Bombay Bicycle Club, Mumford & Sons, The xx and La Roux.

Fresh fashion brand, Boxfresh definitely know a thing or two about staying at the forefront of fashion when it comes to making garms, hence the fact that Kano is their brand ambassador, so when they announced their range was going to be stocked in selected HMV stores nationwide who better to help them celebrate then the slick grime MC himself.

Several HMV stores up and down the country including Manchester, Gateshead, Southampton, Cardiff, Glasgow, Newcastle and London will all be stocking Boxfresh lines from 1^st September in the new fashion department of HMV, The Studio. The Studio launch ties in nicely with the release of Kano’s latest offering Method To The Maadness (released 30^th August) so to celebrate both Boxfresh’s new venture and release of his album he’ll be meeting and greeting fans in both Southampton (5pm on 2^nd September) and Leeds (5pm on 3^rd September) stores, as well as performing tracks like his new single Upside which is set to tear up the charts since it’s release earlier this week.

Both Kano and Boxfresh seem to be looking forward the The Studio launch, according to Matt Winton, Boxfresh International Marketing Executive, “HMV is a great tie-in for us as music is so intrinsic to the success and appeal of both brands. Boxfresh has been collaborating with Kano – a key artist for us, throughout 2010, and this has culminated in Kano’s album releasing around the same time as the Boxfresh launch within HMV’s new look fashion department. What better way to celebrate this exciting new relationship than through an intimate instore performance by Kano?”

Bluey Robinson
Recently signed to Sony Music, this gifted and in-demand singer-songwriter made his name singing on the world’s underground systems (think London’s Tube, Paris’ Metro and New York’s Subway). He’s recording his album at the moment, so his performance at Fresh Cuts Live is a rare treat from a man touted by many to be one of the breakout stars of the year.

Marvell
Vertex, Shocka and Double S are Marvell, a trio of MCs hailing for the grime scene and set to do big things in 2010. Their recent free mixtape Marvell FM3 scored 10,000 downloads in under 48 hours and their Chew-Fu produced single Trainers looks sure to be a club smash this year. Marvell’s performance is always big – expect them to sound even better backed by a tight live band.

McLean
Formerly known as Digga, McLean’s Broken scored nearly 20 million YouTube and MySpace plays in 2007, and three years on, his latest track, My Name is taking radio by storm, and can be seen on video channels everywhere. McLean is a brilliant British soul voice and a massively talented songwriter who’s powerful and soulful vocals are not to be slept on.

Industry Takeover strives to help young aspiring artists make it in the music business. Its’ aim is to push the next generation of musical talent by organising seminars and activities. Now in it’s second year this coming Industry Takeover will be on Saturday 6 March at Bethnal Green in East London…

This great event will feature guest seminars from the likes of Griminal, Terror Danjah, Twin B, 1Xtra DJ Ras Kwame, Ctrl.Alt.Shift editor Chantelle Fiddy and RWD’s very own Hattie Collins. They’ll be giving tips and secrets in finding success in the industry as well as their own personal experiences of how they made it.

Other activities taking place at the event include various workshops involving vocal, live performance and song writing techniques and podcast sessions. There will also be a fashion show with The I Feel Experience (IFE) models with clothes provided courtesy of BoxFresh, Master Shortie Footwear, Princess Nyah and Down With It. There will also be an open mic on the night for artists to showcase their skills whether it’s their God-given talent or something they’ve had to worked hard on.

The day will also feature performances form Master Shortie, Devlin, Mz Bratt, Princess Nyah, Scorcher, Ny and the UD Vocal Collective.
