We've had a combined seven days of summer so far this year, but we're optimistic about a return to more enjoyable temperatures in the coming weeks, we have to be, if we don't believe, we'll go crazy. Worst case scenario though, we can start planning for next year, which by the law of averages can't be as bad as this year and if you're lucky enough, you can have your design produced by adidas Originals.
Artists, designers and creators from around the world are being invited to customise a pair of Originals sunglasses which will be considered for global production in 2013.
Talenthouse, the cutting edge social engagement platform, will host and support this challenge through the adidas eyewear facebook page [facebook.com/adidaseyewear] identifying and compensating artists through a life-changing campaign that supports their submissions through online activity, while raising the profile of all participants involved. In just two years, Talenthouse has developed over 200 creative campaigns enabling submitting artists & hosts to virally grow their audiences.
The eyewear template in this creative challenge already exists in the collection and is called the Santiago. The current Santiago range uses simple eye-catching prints to give the sunglasses a 70’s look and feel. The distinctive keyhole nose bridge can either create a more heritage look but can also be highlighted in a different way to make the frame look more contemporary. The Santiago continues to attract attention from artists all around the world as it possesses a unique shape and design exemplifying its subtle difference.
All designs should be submitted through the adidas eyewear facebook page and must be original (not using third party pre-existing copyright materials), using the provided templates entitled Eyewear Front - Arms Left and Arms Right 2D and Eyewear 3D. If participants complete both templates (2D and 3D) they must submit the two templates in either JPEG or PNG file. The winning designs may be modified to accommodate production requirements, so participants must retain their original artwork should they be chosen as a winner.
Voted by the public and judged by a panel of experts, the official design team of adidas eyewear will choose three outstanding designs that best represent the originality of adidas eyewear. The winners may have the chance to work closely with the design team to finalise their designs if selected to go into global production. In addition, each winner will receive a digital copy of their work with the final design, exposure across adidas eyewear's website and social media channels including a generous $3000 cash gift.
