Poland Starlet Rafal Wolski Looking Forward To Russia Clash

Polish prospect Rafal Wolski is hoping to make an impact in the host nation's clash with Andrey Arshavin's Russia this evening.

19 year old Legia Warsaw midfielder Rafal Wolski is hoping to make his mark on the European Championships this summer after a standout season ended in a surprise call-up. Having appeared just once for Poland, Wolski is looking at this evening's clash with Russia as an opportunity to make his mark in the national team.

On tonight's game, Rafal offered "The Russian team is strong, and Arshavin is the player that can win the game all on his own so we have to watch out for him especially, but they have some great players in their team so we must be at the top of our game." The hotly tipped prospect says the quarter finals is a must for the host nation, remembering clearly when the announcement for Euro 2012 hosts were announced "Nobody really expected it, so it was a big surprise. I remember the day, I was just a kid, and we watched it in our club. When Platini showed the card, all the coaches and managers went crazy, and it influenced us all and drove us forward."

Rafal Wolski's Poland take-on Russia today at 7:45PM at National Stadium Warsaw, live on itv1.
