Maverick Sabre talks K Koke Collab and Progression

We caught up with Maverick down at BBC Radio's Hackney Weekender.

Having done his thing over on the 1Xtra tent we had a little catch up with The Lonely And The Brave singer/songwriter.

Tracking his progression over the past three years, the Brit nominee told us about his rise from stage to stage becoming most apparent at Lovebox Festival 2012.

"The first year I did it, I was the first act on the second stage and there was literally my sister, my fiancé and a tractor in the field. Then I was the first act on the mainstage last year in front of ten people. Then we had a bit of a bet about this year, and it was wicked. I think there was something like ten thousand people there. It was a really nice humbling feeling."

We didn't doubt the Stokie native for a minute and it seems not only the thousands of people that will see the Irishman at his sixty something tour dates are fans. Maverick dropped some news about his upcoming K Koke collaboration too.

"I have been doing tones of collaborating recently, I have a track on K Koke album, which is a wicked tune. I think they will be using it as a single, so look out for that."

With that to look forward to as well as extensive set of tour dates and if you stupidly haven't already, go and buy his debut album as he's already busy penning more tracks for your collection.
