We go joke crazy in our second annual comedy special with The Elite Selling Crew E4's PhoneShop
Featuring: PhoneShop, Project X, Santigold
It’s a show that has captured the hearts and minds of RWD Towers; we only had ‘a hour’ with Andrew ‘Ashley’ Brooke and Javone ‘Jerwayne’ Prince, but we caught some serious lolz with the PhoneShop duo. When it came to choosing this month’s cover, we reached into the small screen for our favourite TV show on Channel 4 (apart from Homeland, obvs).
Yep, welcome to our annual ‘Comedy Special’, following on from last year’s Adam Deacon/ Anuvahood issue. We not only catch joke with the PhoneShop crew, we take to the big screen to see what’s up with this year’s Superbad, Project X, and see what other laughathons we can look forward to at the cinema this year. Our Final Word is Son Of Rambow’s Will Poulter, a young man who knows more than a thing or two about the art of cracking jokes. We also check out new talent on the rise; Morgana Robinson, Seann Walsh, Elis James, Jazzie Zonzola and James Acaster, five up and comer’s who are getting grins on faces all over the UK. It’s not only people what are on the telly that are funny; our own Danny Walker can sometimes be quite mirthsome too. Check Walks and JME in this month’s RWD & Come Again. It’s some funny stuff.
Of course, we’re not just playing it for laughs. We find out what the brilliant Santigold has been up to, and meet brilliant bassman Sub Focus. Seeing as it’s nearly that time of year, Toddla T fills us in on festival essentials, while our friend Fazer gives us the latest goings-on with all things Dappy and Tulisa. Other excellent talent includes Scrufizzer, Lady Leshurr, Mic Righteous and Jakwob, while we also introduce you to new actress Anna Nightingale.
Now, I’m no stand-up comedian, but before I go allow me to tell you a joke. Here’s my favourite of the month, courtesy of ‘CEO of Fun’ Danny Walker. Why was 10 afraid of 7? Cos 7, 8, 9. BOOM!
