Kanye Signs Mr. Hudson
Artist:
RWD
Those of you who picked up Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak last week will have noticed that a certain UK vocalist and RWD favourite is all over it. Mr. Hudson might be credited with a guest spot on Paranoid but further inspection of the ridiculously tiny font inner credits reveals that the Birmingham born singer contributed either backing vocals, production or his song-writing skills to no less than eight songs on the album.
Furthermore, it turns out that Ben Hudson has been signed up by Kanye to be a part of his G.O.O.D. Music roster and that he’ll exec-produce the London resident’s forthcoming album Now I See which is due out in March ’09. “He’s an incredible artist,” West revealed to MTV backstage at the recent EMAs. “I believe Mr. Hudson has the potential to be bigger than me, to be one of the most important artists of his generation. He's playing these songs, he's playing them back-to-back-to-back — 'Dude, I'm telling you, your problems are not going to be getting hit records, blowing up and being a big star — your problems are going to be living real life, and dealing with real life, so just prep yourself.' Everything I hear from him is a smash!"
Zane Lowe debuted the first track from the disc entitled There Will Be Tears on his Radio 1 show a couple of weeks back, and we heard the brilliant track in all it’s live glory at the recent afterparty for Kanyeezy’s Glow In The Dark show in London. The tune is written and produced by the blonde haired, blue eyed vocalist himself, whilst Kon has contributed a song called Supernova to the project and is hoping to wrap up a few more before the LP is done. The pair worked on music together whilst recording in Hawaii for both of their respective discs as well as on Jay-Z’s highly anticipated Blueprint 3 album.
