Michael Jackson Sued By Sheikh
Artist: RWD

The son of an Arab monarch took Michael Jackson to court yesterday (17 November), saying that MJ obtained $7 million as an advance on an album and an autobiography that never saw the light of day.

The legal team of Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain say the money was given to the King of Pop as an advance on a joint recording project with the amateur song writing sheikh. Jackson was not at the hearing at London’s Royal Courts of Justice.

It’s believed Jackson will appear via a videolink from America, later in the trial.

Those thinking this is just any sheikh, think again, as this is the same Al Khalifa who spent millions paying Jackson’s legal fees during his 2003 molestation case and wanted to work with him to rebuild his career after he was cleared of all charges.

He’s also going for expenses which include $350,000 for a European vacation for Jackson and his associates, the sheikh’s lawyer Bankim Thanki said. "The cost even included the expenses of bringing out Mr. Jackson's hairdresser," Thanki said. "It's not a conventional commercial dispute."

Jackson and his people are saying the $7 mil’ and expenses were just ‘gifts’ but either way this is not good for the star as last week he was forced to give up the deed on 2,500-acre Neverland.
