Skepta is Sweeping Stores in September
Artist: Skepta

Skepta’s Rolex Sweep is finally out and in stores 22 September. If you can’t wait until then, the download is available now on iTunes. The track is serious!

The video really is something too. It is set in your average local pub occupied by different types of folk: builders, pensioners and anyone else that happened to be about like Michael Jackson, 50 Cent and Soulja Boy look-a-likes. It’s a good week for Skepta and the release can be added to this week’s MOBO nomination (Best UK Newcomer).

Last night MOBO nomination party at Beach Blanket Babylon, Skepta was wrapped in Ed Hardy garments from head-to-toe. It’s no surprise that he has made a track with Tinchy Stryder called Ed Hardy Party - hold tight for release dates of this one. Not only was Skepta an eye-catcher from what he was wearing but, also attracted a lot of media attention hanging with the likes of Jammer, Chipmunk, N-Dubz and Ironik. Later on that evening Skepta performed a remix of Stay With Me with Ironik. RWD’s Hattie Collins was in attendance and described the evening as “A fantastic night! Definitely got everyone in the mood for the awards next month.” Hosts of the night were Ace and Invisible and celebs floating about included Lisa Mafia, Tim Westwood, various footballers and the crème of the crop from the UK scene. Imagine who’ll be backstage next month?

Skepta is without a doubt a character that oozes confidence and it’s evident from a recent interview with Masterstepz, “I’m like the full package.” Good things are set for the future of Boy Better Know firm and Skepta himself. For those that would like to follow in his footsteps take Skepta’s advice, “Treat it like a job, not a hobby.”

Are you still here? Go and buy Rolex Sweep now.
