Legendary Hip-Hop pioneer and entrepreneur Russell Simmons has announced that he will be bringing his ground breaking and hugely popular Def Comedy Jam to the UK for the first time since it began over a decade ago.
Premiering on HBO in 1991,Def Comedy Jam was an extraordinary phenomenon that forever changed the face of American comedy. Produced by partners Russell Simmons and Stan Lathan, Def Comedy Jam in it’s raw, honest and uncensored form brought Black comedy into American homes, launching the careers of: Dave Chappelle, Chris Tucker, Bernie Mac, Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, Mike Epps, Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, and many others.
