Madonna Wears Wiley’s No.1
Artist:
Wiley
After weeks of hearing …Rolex pumped in cars, in clubs and from people’s phones at the back of the bus, the self-confessed ‘King of Radio 1’ has been out foxed by the ‘Queen of Commercial Radio’, Madonna. Despite knocking Sam Sparro from his No.2 spot, Wiley’s biggest hit to date lost out to Guy Richie’s 49 year-old wife and 4 Minutes. That’s right; Madge, Timberlake and Timbaland are still No.1.
Yesterday (Sunday) Eskiboy played Radio 1’s Big Weekend and – alongside his Rolex Sweeping partner in rhyme, Skepta – performed Wearing My Rolex to a welcoming Maidstone audience. “Hold tight my London Massive,” the east Londoner spat as Bless Beats’ No.2 riddim worked its way towards 30,000 festival goers. “Oi ladies what do we usually do?” and the Kent crowd responded in unison, “BUBBLE!!!”
In related news, the man in question doesn’t seem to be bothered about 4 Minutes and was last searching for ‘1000 goons’ on RWD’s very own forums. In the May issue of RWD he revealed his hot and cold opinions of RWD’s popular community. “The RWD Forum is a good place because it allows everyone to talk about what they want to talk about. It’s like a newspaper. Sometimes it gets heated, but it’s joke. When I’m on there it reminds me of college and school.”
Despite Wiley’s latest MySpace blog reading, “Grime Wave is coming soon” it is actually out now via the usual methods and some new ones.
