Artist: Amy Winehouse

The ultra-prestigious Grammy's take place in LA this weekend, but one nominee won't be around to enjoy it.

Despite trying to clean up her act by going to rehab, Amy has had her application for a work visa turned down by the US embassy.

Amy had been hoping to be allowed into the country, where she was due to perform and perhaps pick up a couple of the six awards she's up to.

Here's the statement from her label:

"Amy Winehouse will not be performing at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony.

The singer has been invited to appear at the event on Sunday (February 10) after receiving an amazing 6 nominations for the prestigious awards.

Unfortunately, her application for a visa to enter the United States of America has been rejected at this time by the American Embassy in London.

Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery.

Amy has been treated well and fairly by the Embassy staff and thanks everyone for their support in trying to make this happen.

There will of course be other opportunities and she very much looks forward to visiting America in the near future."

Well, we hope she gets the gongs anyway - the music is more than worthy.
