Beyonce to Attend The Grammy Awards, Despite Strike
Artist: Beyonce

The Grammy Awards are set to take place next month on February 10. Despite being one of the music industry’s biggest events at this moment in time this year’s Awards are cast in shadow.

There’s an ongoing strike by the Writer’s Guild of America – which mainly applies to the film industry (the reason behind the Golden Globes looking like a ghost town) – but it’s being backed by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. It’s said that the event could be boycotted, but certain artists, management and record labels are confirming that they will be in attendance.

The latest is Mathew Knowles who confirmed in a series of statements that his daughter will be honouring her commitment to perform. "The work of the Recording Academy is vital to the music industry, and we have every intention of being with the entire music community to celebrate the Grammys' 50th birthday in February," Knowles announced yesterday. "Beyoncé, as well as my other artists, Solange and Trin-I-Tee 5:7, have been asked to participate and will do so. We have an incredible Beyoncé performance that will be announced soon. We wish the Grammys the best."

Will the show go on?
