Mary Has 'Roid Rage?
Artist:
Mary J Blige
In one of the more weird new stories circulating, online newspaper the 'Times Union' is reporting that celebrities including 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige and Timbaland are being named into a steroids trafficking investigation.
Alongside a host of sports names as well as thousands of everyday folk, the musician's names have been leaked to the press as being amongst those who may have received or used steroids. Police maintain however that no law has been broken by those named, but that they will be targeting the doctor's and pharmacies who prescribed the drugs.
While some people use steroids for fast muscle enhancement, others are drawn to its anti-aging effects, despite the fact that there is no medical evidence to support 'roids make you look younger.
There is apparent widespread use among people hoping to benefit from the supposed anti-aging effects as well as enhanced speed, strength and healing properties.
The 'Times Union' claims to have seen information from several witnessed that name Blige and co as having received steroiods, sometimes under fake names, to hotels, recording studios, private residences and even a posh Manhattan gym.
People, we hope this is not true and wee also have to remind you that steroids ain't no good thing. While there may be some benefit to sports stars (if you insist on cheating!), steroids are also said to have terrible side-effects, can trigger cancer, arthritis, diabetes and of course give that that all-consuming 'roid-rage.'
Here's our advice; invest in a good night cream or give in and age old gracefully. Does no one remember what baby girl Aaliyah once said? Age Ain't Nothin' But A Number, you dummies, and if you can't win on your own physical merits, why bother playing at all?
More news when we get it...
