Last Word: Superhead
Artist: RWD

She’s one of hip hop’s most notorious groupies. Sylvia James meets Karinne ‘Superhead’ Steffans...

Last time you wrote a book detailing the stars you’ve slept with?

Well, the first book wasn’t about that, it was about my life. The first half was about dealing with abuse and then what happens when you come to LA. The new one, Vixen Diaries is the last two years of my life; it has a lot more meaning to it. There are a lot of changes, what life is like for me now, how I've changed. There are a lot of Hollywood people in it; Owen Wilson, Eric Benet plus Vivica Fox, Halle Berry; just all the conversations that we have had. People want to see where Ben Affleck was on Sunday. Well, I can tell you that.

Last time you were nervous about bumping into someone you’ve written about?
If I were a nervous person, I would have never written the book. I think you have to be quite a bold person to be able to write about something like that. Also, I never really bump into them anymore; we don’t travel in the same circles. But I haven’t had any trouble with people.

Last time you saw Tyra Banks after you went on her show?
Tyra is totally non-important to me. Tyra and I know a lot of the same people, we dated the same people – so I think it was very hypocritical. I feel she is just intimidated by a particular type of woman. I don’t talk to her or see her.

Last time you dated a non-famous guy?
Last year, but he didn't handle it very well. He would nit-pick at stupid things about my house and ask pointless questions. Even wealthy, powerful men can’t deal with women having their own and not needing them.

Last time you dated someone famous?
I’m engaged to Darius McCrary, who’s an actor in Transformers (the voice of Jazz). Famous people aren’t famous to me, they’re just my neighbours, I see them everyday in the grocery store.

Last time you planned to marry Bobby Brown because you’re pregnant with his child, according to rumour?
We were never together. I was just more of a friend. People say I was the reason behind Bobby and Whitney’s marriage break down, but when I saw him again, they were already separated. He was living on his own and he didn’t know where she was...

Last time Ne-Yo got mad at you?
Ne-Yo and I have a friendship and someone in the media made him feel that he should be upset because he is not in the book. But he’s a friend. I wouldn’t write about him because there is nothing to say. I only write about people who have touched my life. He’s not part of my story; he’s just a person I know. I left a lot of people out of the first book too.

Last time you spoke to your son about your books?
I will talk with him all throughout his life, that is the only way to raise a child. There were a lot of things done wrong with me so I want to be able to discuss things with him. But I don’t think he cares. He knows famous people. It’s like, one day you’re watching Dr Doolittle and the next day you’re at Eddie Murphy’s house. When your son goes to school with Pamela Anderson’s children... Plus the children don’t care about adult issues. I don’t know why everyone else has such a big deal with it.

Last time you felt you’d achieved something of worth?
I've reached my life goal at 26 and I’m very content in where I am. If it was up to me, I would go ahead, get married, have kids and lie in bed writing books.

Vixen Diaries is out now
