Last night Pharrell Williams and his BBC business partner Nigo, opened the Flagship Billionaire Boys Club/ Ice Cream Store, in NYC.
The star studded event was held in the brand new two-storey ‘outer space’ inspired store, which is located in the trendy Soho district of Manhattan. The first floor features the Ice Cream brand, selling hoodies, T-shirts and trainers. The second floor hosts the Billionaire Boys Club, which is a more mature label specialising in denim.
Apparently people started queuing in the morning just to get hold of the exclusive limited edition gear that was on offer. Amongst these goodies, were the Ice Cream Board Flip 2's. Only 100 pairs were ever made and they are numbered 1-100.
Pharrell has said that he believes in quality over quantity and plans to develop the business slowly so that he doesn’t churn out any sloppy poor quality clothes; "I don't want to grow too big. I'm a student in the game, and Nigo has shown me a lot, and I've learned a lot from Marc Jacobs [American fashion designer]. The two things that sort of ties those two characters together is [that] its quality first - quality over quantity,”
