Kanye Cries At Concert
Artist: Kanye West

Kanye West has returned to the stage a week after the death of his mother.

Dr. Donda West died last Saturday, following complications from plastic surgery. The surgeon who did the procedure is currently under investigation regarding a number of other operations that have gone wrong.

However, West played in Paris over the weekend, and was said to be, unsurprisingly, very emotional. When he attempted to introduce the song Mama with the words, "This song is for my mother ... , he broke down and left the stage. When he returned 10 minutes later to perform Stronger, he appeared to direct the lyrics 'I need you right now,' to the crowd.

West canceled a show scheduled for this evening, but is said to be performing at the 02 this Thursday, after he buries his mother this week.

While it may seem an incredibly short time before returning to work, perhaps Kanye is taking comfort in carrying on, and having some semblance of normality. Death hits people in different ways, and so he could be using the shows as some sort of therapy.

We hope he's ok and we have to say whatever gets him through this difficult time, is cool with us.

Here's footage of the moment at Paris venue, Le Zenith.
