Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil has been transferred to the prison medical unit, not because he may harm himself, but because staff at Pentonville ‘fear for his safety’.

Fielder-Civil was arrested last Thursday on suspicion of GBH and attempting to pervert the course of justice. The 25 year old is accused of trying to pay off a key witness in the trial. He was refused bail on Saturday and the trial has since been postponed.

Of his arrangements a close family member said, “The unit has a TV and is more relaxed than a normal cell, which is meant to calm him down”. Being ‘upgraded’ in prison doesn’t seem to be enough for Blake, as he is said to have been crying non-stop since he arrived at the prison due to missing his wife.

Meanwhile, Ms. Winehouse is so convinced of her husband’s innocence, that she has booked a luxury four-week break to India for them both scheduled to take place over the Christmas and New Year period.
