Jay-Z buys Artful Dodger clothing

Iconix (the company that brought Rocawear) and Jay-Z have joined forces to form the company, Scion LLC. The first of their business ventures is the purchase of the luxury Artful Dodger clothing line.
This unique high-end fashion label is only sold in boutiques and specialist stores across the U.K and US. When asked about the multi-million dollar purchase, Mr. Carter said, ‘Artful Dodger represents the first of many acquisitions that will begin to shape our joint venture with Iconix.’
The rap entrepreneur insists on keeping Artful Dodger’s signature designer, Scott Langton, as Creative Director and Head Designer,
"Artful Dodger is an incredible brand with a lot of room for growth and Scott Langton is a visionary designer. They represent what's next and new in fashion and we are glad to have both the brand and Scott as a part of our family."
However, a purchase of $15 million in cash is the equivalent to a £2.99 meal at Sam’s to this rap entrepreneur. With a personal fortune of more than $500m he earns just under five grand and hour.
Also the co-owner of the NBA ,Jersey Jets, Jigga is planning to open another franchise of his 40-40 Club in spring 2008 at The Palazzo, Las Vegas, the freshest hotel on the strip.
But that is not all… recorded in only four weeks, Jay-Z’s latest album American Gangster, is set to top the billboard album chart in the next week and has already sold 179,000 copies in its first 2 days. On his $500m fortune and very healthy album sales, the multi platinum artist had this to say, ‘ I really understand that I'm a blessed guy.’
