RWD At The MTV EMA Awards...
Artist:
Snoop Dogg
You know we does at RWD - we'll do what we can to get as close to the action to give you, our dear RWD readers the inside scoop on the music you love (and hate).
Well, thanks to our friends at MTV and Sony Ericsson, we're over in Munich for the 2007 MTV EMA awards - and it's already been a lot!
The lovely Sony Ericsson have already supplied us with a fab new phone (the brand-new W910), which is full of amazing features from music to video (you can shake it to shuffle etc., etc) and a great camera-phone. Which is a good job, cos it'll come in handy later when we head backstage to bump into Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Kelly Rowland, and, most exciting Boris Becker!!! (pause).
In fact, we wish we had taken the W910 with us to the Spa earlier. Hanging out at a very swish hotel that is housing La Wino, we have already shared a sauna with Avril Lavigne and Michael Stipe (true stories). We also thought that Little Britain's David Walliams was in the steam room with us, but apparently it was an Italian journalist called Pietro. Well, there was a lot of steam going on...
Star are every-frickin'-where. Last night Shaggy and our favourite magician in the world, Dynamo, were hanging out at a hotel across town, while as we type this, 200 kids outside our hotel are screaming. We just took a look and saw lots of bleached hair and skinny jeans. Probably My Chemical Romance or one of them indie acts there.
Yesterday at the press conference, we got to ask the Foo Fighter's Dave Grohl a question, as well as Wyclef and Snoop Dizzle. Ghohl's advice to new musicians like the one's featured in this year's New Sounds Of Europe should definitely not "take cocaine," he said. Wise words.
Clef told us he's p****d at MTV cos not only did they not get him a Maybach like Snoop, but his hotel room is tiny! The Fugee's frontman was in fine form and full of jokes, as well as touching on subjects of a more serious nature. He talked about how he and Lauryn used to, er, you know, so until she's over that friction from before, they won't be back in the studio.
Snoop meanwhile told RWD about his favourite memory from the Death Row days. He said it was right after 'Pac got out of prison and they all had no cares in the world; they were just hanging out, making music and having a great time.
If only things could have stayed that way...
Both Grohl, Clef and Snoop promised a great show tonight. Expect a few surprise names (we've heard rumours of Rihanna, and also Winehouse and Pete Doherty doing a duet) and some great live music...
Keep 'em peeled as we upload the latest live and direct from our W910 (did we mention Sony Ericsson gave us a new phone?)
