T.I. To Go To Prison?

Rapper T.I. has been arrested in Atlanta for felony possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.
The Big Shit Poppin' spitter was supposed to be attending the BET Awards, where he won two awards, when he was arrested in a parking lot. Tip apparently attempted to purchase unlicensed machine guns and silencers from an undercover cop posing as a gun-seller. When police searched his house last night, they also discovered six additional firearms.
T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr., allegedly paid around $21,000 (£10,500) in cash to his bodyguard to purchase over 25 firearms on his behalf. The bodyguard, who was worked for T.I. since June, told police that he bought the guns on the rhymer's behalf, as his boss is a convicted felon and therefore not allowed to buy guns. He is said to have bought nine guns for T.I.
If found guilty, T.I could be facing a long, long prison sentence.
Unfortunately for the King Of The South, his bodyguard is now a Confidential Witness, and will be testifying about Tip. He made a number of phone calls to the rapper saying he had bought 'everything', which were recorded by the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms department, the section of law enforcement that will prosecute the spitter.
T.I. called the bodyguard and asked him to deliver the weapons yesterday. The police were already there and arrested him.
"This investigation developed very quickly," said Vanessa McLemore, Special Agent in Charge of ATF's Atlanta Division. "We learned only this Wednesday that the cooperating witness was allegedly buying the machine guns for Harris. The cooperating witness told Harris on Thursday that he had obtained the items, and on Friday Harris made it clear that he wanted them delivered to him today. Harris then agreed to meet and took possession of the machine guns this afternoon. He now faces serious federal charges and a potentially long prison sentence."
T.I. is currently in custody, where he will remain until tomorrow when he will appear before a US magistrate in Atlanta.
