RWD Reviews: 50 V Kanye
Artist: Kanye West

Lets just roll 'em out. Feel free to slag us off below. Thanks.

Kanye West
Graduation
Rocafella 4.5/5

The last stop before he gets a Good Ass Job, the arrogant artist from Chicago showcases his evolution from producer to hip hop superstar with an album of solid music rather than guest spots and skits. The Louis Vuitton Don takes hip hop in an altogether different direction on this, his third album. Futuristic disco sounds resound, as Kan creates what could become a classic-in-waiting. While he's definitely improved as a spitter, it’s his musicality on tracks such as Good Morning and the orchestral-led I Wonder where his talent is truly measured. With an almost mechanical formula for making hits, what the album is missing is the soul that featured on College Dropout to truly mark this out as a hip hop classic. Lyrically too, he's perhaps over-simplified some of his similes, although there's still plenty of funny rhymes to be found: "I'm like the fly Malcolm X, buy any jeans necessary," etc, etc. Drunk And Hot Girls aside, this is an album you won't want to stop playing for at least the next month. Let me put it another way, if you liked Stronger and Can't Tell Me Nothin', you haven't heard anything yet. West once more proves why he is the most exciting artist in the game.

Track To Check: Champion, oh and Big Brother, Flashing Lights, Homecoming,Good Morning, Everything I Am, I Wonder etc, etc... (HC and RK)

50 Cent
Curtis
Interscope
3.5/5

Let me begin by saying I've been a huge fan of 5-Oh since the mixtape days. So it's not that I didn't want to like this album, I genuinely wanted to. And I don't not like it. As albums go, this is some strong, boom-bap based hard-rock hip hop. Lyrically, Fif is still strong, there's plenty (if not too many) guest collabo's and excellent production from mostly a large cast of unknowns. But there’s nothing new here, nothing daring, nothing exciting. Just 16 tracks (plus intro) of bitches, bullets and bank notes...but it works. However, right now my iPod only wants to play Graduation. If 50 wanted to make a competition, then sorry, but he came in a runner-up - only just, but he lost.

Track to Check: I Get Money, All Of Me (RK, HC)

please, as a dj i cant even play atleast 1 KANYE track (out of 13), a real hiphop album should at least have a club banger!! For the hiphop of the last 10 years 50 wins this easily. I can take fiddy in the the club, in the car, in my room, kanye cant make it outside!! All the tracks are just boring samples, maybe only 'champion' was the interesting sample. But the fact is, this is just one of those underground albums, and the reason this will sell is because it's caught up with the hype and because it's kanye west. I've heard better underground albums than graduation.
Overrall for me curtis scored 4/5 and graduation 2.5/5

D.J messy doesnt make no sense. There is the same amount of bangers on each album. 50 cent aint doin it no more anyways. A real artist shows growth. And i havnt seen anything differen from 50t. Kanye is smart though, coz deres bare synth/80's style songs on his album which is whats in right about now. That whole gangster thing is played out anyways, Its all about being Suave!
