It's that time of year when there seems to be an awards ceremony every other day. The Mercury's of course took place just the other week, while the MOBO's are just around the corner.

Of course, the night on everyone's lips right now is the VMA's taking place in Las Vegas this Friday.

Britney Spears has finally been confirmed as the show's opener, despite musical director Timbaland's alleged misgivings. The singer is currently creating some buzz with her Danjahand's produced single Gimme Me, the first track from ehr new album due in November. Lets just hope she has her underwear on and wig stuck on properly, youknowdemwayzdere.

Also appearing at the star-studded bash is Lil Wayne - aka RWD's favourite US rapper, Justin Timberlake, 50, Akon, Chris Brown, Common, Rihanna, Cee Lo, Kanye, Soulja Boy and Nelly Furtado.

Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen were also due to attend, but with Allen's visa problems and Amy's, well, you know, neither are expected to be at the show. Lets hope one or the other cops a Moon Man and reps for the UK regardless!
