Wiley Leaves Big Dada?
Artist:
Wiley
As he has done before in the past, Wiley has hit up the RWD forums to tell the good people what's happening in his life.
This time he informs us that he's left Big Dada recordings, the label that released his latest album Playtime Is Over. "I had to go, this label (Big Dadda) doesn't know my potential. I'm not signing another deal, it is all about Eskibeat recordings now, my final home," he informed RWD.com readers (note he, er, spelt the label name wrong, but hey!). "I want Eskibeat to be a grime label, just how Andy C has got his label in drum and bass."
Later on, he decided to drop a little diss to Dizzee and Kano, insisting the only reason they have done well is because they are controlled by their labels. "Dizzee and Kane better not chat to me again," he moaned. "There (sic) both idiots, Dirty Stank is a shit label and Kane don't like grime. Wake up mate, it's where you came from. Both of you."
While we have no official comment from the label or Big Will just yet - it is Bank oOliday after all - we'll let you know what we know when we know...Check out the Grime forum to see for yourself.
What do you think? Is Wiley crazy to leave the label or did he do the right thing?

Seriously stop all this madness. Grime was a short lived phase of aggresive talentless music that represented the streets and the struggle of urban life. NO ONE CARES ANYMORE. It is no longer fashionable to be a council estate layabout. You lost your position in youth culture when your culture was labelled as "CHAVDOME". The music is shit, but not as shit as the talentless wankers that make it, promote it or listen to it. P.S. Wiley, I thought you were retiring? That was your last desperate attempt at clinging to the collums was it not? Your career should have ended the night heartless ruined you in watford. Quit the unprofitable day job once and for all and do the inevitable: Go and get a job in Blackmarket records, which I'm sure will too be closed down when the youth of london once again change their colours, as they so often love to do.

Ohhh dear some of ya have proper got it twisted aint ya! 'Sizzle the rizzle' givin it 'NO ONE CARES ANYMORE', guess wot Newsflash- ya don't speak for everyone! Who are you to speak like you represent the country's opinion on it?!!! If it's so talentless and a waste of time then why are ya even takin up the energy to comment on it?! Wasteman.
Though the production doesnt always involve usin a lot of layers of sound on a track, ya need an extremely good sense of timing to MC over Grime, and concerning the content- I think MC's like Devlin speak for themselves with their conscious and political lyrics.
Though he ain't the best MC there is to offer, there PROBABLY wudn't be a 'Grime' scene if it wasn't for Wiley. He's pioneered the scene to where it is today and not Dizzee, Kano, Lethal B or anyone can claim to have as big an influence. Also, for this reason other MC's try and get hype off Wiley's name by clashin him so it obviously works both ways as he aint the only one to be accused of tryin to gain hype of others!

Wiley has got a point about Kano and Dizzee Rascal. They don't care for anyone anymore. Kane is not even that big when it comes to sales and Dizze has only had one top 10 hit which was Stand Up Tall. The difference between them and Wiley was that they pulled themselves out of the scene all together and concentrated on the mainstream. Wiley has too much love for the underground scene that's why he can never do the mainstream thing whole heartedly. He doesn't want to be controlled by a label or told do this, do that. Thats not him, infact it's never been him. He has made thousands and thousands of pounds on the underground scene anyway so he ain't broke, he is in a good financial space. He is still the best and he is like the LL of Grime. How many people from the So Solid, Heartless and Pay As U Go days are still at the top of the scene/ Clashing and beating the best young MC's today? No one but Wiley. There you go and if Dizzee has the the crown jewels he should clash Wiley on a Westwood show or something but he won't. Instead he makes sly swag songs like Oldskool which didn't even sell that well.

Wiley does clash bare, but he does deserve to be called 'godfather of grime'. Although he does not know when to shut his mouth he is a big producer still.
