With just under a month left until Kanye West and 50 Cent both drop their third albums on the same day their ongoing, monotonous sage drones on (and like the chumps that we are, we keep reporting on it!).
This time 50 dragged Lil’ Wayne into the fold. “What makes him a legitimate conversation?” Fif asked SOHH about Weezy. “That makes us the same 'cause we both rap? He wouldn't even be making the mixtapes because I invented that, but there's no significance in that. When he freestyles on a mixtape, it's a song format because he's following my format. But they ask me about him like we're the same."
We’re not really sure what brought on this unprovoked attack, but it could be due to the fact that Kanye recently cited Weezy Baby as the best rapper out there right now. Talking of the Louis Vuitton Don, he also came under fire from the Queens warmonger.
"The people who give out trophies, pick him because he's safe," 50 said referring to Kon’s perception in the industry. "But my projects be making a way bigger impression...by actually selling. That's an indication of the public's interest. How many people are interested enough to go spend $16 on a CD. I sold 1.1. million records in four days and, I didn't get one trophy for The Massacre, for the entire album, then release Get Rich Or Die Trying as a soundtrack, sell 3 million records of the soundtrack and soundtracks are harder to sell than solo albums...and then, no trophies for the soundtracks. I don't get trophies, I get cheques, he gets the trophies. But how you gon' give him a trophy now when he comes out the same time I come out? And I'm just all over his ass. You gone clearly see the favouritism. He's gonna still get the trophies."
As we already know Kanyeezee isn’t the sort of guy to descent to the G-Unit’s low-arse level, but he did have to recently defend himself against claims from Beanie Sigel that he was ‘too metrosexual’. Whatever that means.

This beef was all created by 50 and his marketing team as a strategy to move records. Simply look at the past and this becomes obvious... so the beef is really irrelevant.
But it's funny that people may even consider 50 to be a "great" rapper, when in fact his whole "rap character/persona/image" was created by label execs to sell records. He sells a million records in a week because there are millions of dollars put behind him to pay for the top producers, engineers, advertising, marketing teams...50 is a manufactured rapper, like the britney spears of rap. He's better termed a pop artist.
Now Lil' Wayne is something serious. For anyone to say he is over rated, or lacks talent simply hasn't listened to his music, or lyrics for that matter. No other popular rapper can even compare. Wayne is so poetic with his flow, which is part of the reason I think people have a hard time understanding him. His lyrical content is true art. Metaphors, simileys, conotation...all that of which defines poetry wayne utilizes in his flow, and few of his lyrics are regurgitated, unlike other rappers. So I think to that wayne is in fact the best (mainstream) rapper alive is irrefutable.
