Missy Wants Amy
Artist:
Amy Winehouse
Another day, another star clamouring for the attentions of Amy Winehouse.
Back in the lab working on her as-yet-untitled next album, Missy Elliot recently told Vibe magazine that she's trying to get the UK's own Amy, Amy, Amy to appear on her next record. "I don't have her yet," Elliott admitted, before giving a few more details about the record, due sometime later this year. "I don’t think it's gonna be any different from what I do. I just try to give the unexpected. As different as it gets right now. My main thing is to get the girls dancing, cause once you get the girls dancing, the guys will always follow. People ain't really havin fun with it no more, so that's my main thing - trying to get people back in the club."
Amy is one of the UK's most in-demand at the moment, with Jay-Z, Prince and now Miss E all desperate to get a small piece of her golden touch. Amy's been making a lot of headlines recently - but for not great reasons. The Camden-dweller recently shocked a reporter when she decided to self-harm during an interview with Spin magazine. Using a piece of glass, it's said she carved the words 'I love Blake' on her stomach.
"I'm not in this to be a role model," she said, during her interview. "I don't care. I don't care about any of this and I don't have much of an opinion of myself. I don't think people care about me. I made an album I'm very proud of and that's about it. I write songs because I'm f***ed in the head and need to get something good out of something bad. I thought, 'I'm going to die if I don't write down the way I feel. I'm going to do myself in.' It's nothing spectacular."
Amy's antics and attitude have apparently been causing her friends and family a lot of worry. Former Sugababe Mutya recently spoke up about her buddy: "I would never tell anyone how to live their lives. She has lost too much weight, though, which I do worry about. I think watching your weight to a certain extent is ok, but I don't recommend we should be walking around with bones sticking out of us. No man wants that anyway."
We truly hope Amy gets better, physically and mentally soon.
