Cassidy Reveals Prison Bars

Cassidy notoriously served time for involuntary manslaughter and has revealed that a track on his latest mixtape, The Hustla’s Home was recorded during his incarceration.
The track itself is delightfully titled Jail House Boogie and was recorded over the phone whilst the Philadelphia rapper was awaiting trial. Mixtape moguls DJs Big Mike and Thoro just so happened to have a dictaphone to hand when Cas’ let rip from Pennsylvania’s Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility.
The rapper, christened Barry Reese said in a recent statement, “I wanted to let the streets know I was fine. When I was in jail I wasn't able to have CDs and stuff to get the beats I needed, but I was able to listen to the radio and hear certain beats, and I locked it into my head and wrote to that bounce. Then I might hear it on the radio again and be able to spit it to that beat later.” Thankfully, Pennsylvania’s doesn’t play that much country and western on the radio otherwise Cassidy might have appeared alongside a hillbilly with a banjo following his release.
Some may be so bold to state that this boy is addicted to the drama. After his seven-month stretch in prison he was in a serious car crash that left him fighting for his life in a New Jersey hospital. Like many rappers in their prime, a prison sentence can assure you big muscles and loads of stories to tell. The stark reality of Cassidy’s prison revelations takes you to a dark place, that convicts alike can relate too. The mixtape is doing the Limewire time trials and is due to be officially released in September this year.
