After we reported that the diminutive funklord that is Prince wants to perform with our very own Amy Winehouse when he hits the capital this august, it is our pleasure to announce that our favourite Camdenite (no Danny it’s not you) would love to get up pon stage with the Purple One.
Speaking to MTV, Amy revealed that she’s love to take the 80’s pop icon up on his offer. “I'll drop everything to do that. Stuff like that doesn't make me go, 'Oh, I must be the nuts.' Stuff like that makes me want to do this tomorrow, and the night after, and the night after. Now I want to find out how solid that is. I'd do it with bells on. All day long!” So she’s excited then we take it.
Of course it’s not just diminutive, weirdly bearded singers who admire Amy’s talents, normal people like her too. Not only did Ghostface jump on the remix of You Know I’m No Good (and stick it on his last album), Jay-Z has laid down verses for a new version of Rehab as well. “The Jay-Z remix is wicked. I'm flattered that he liked the song enough to do something with it." Amy revealed without going any further so as not to spoil he surprise of the track.
She can also count Pharoahe Monch and Snoop Dogg as fans, but she doesn’t wanna stop there. “I'd love to work with people like Nas, Mos Def, Busta Rhymes, Rah Digga. I love how they write songs.
