FASHION : Farrell Autumn/Winter ‘11 Collection

Written by Tego Sigel on 24 Aug 2011

Having introduced you the new menswear label Farrell, devised by Robbie Williams and the grandson of Jack ‘The Giant Killer Farrell, we’ve got a close look at their AW11 range.

We introduced you to new menswear label Farrell last week and today we’ve got the first proper look at the brand heavily inspired by Saville Row’s Autumn/Winter ‘11 collection.

Signature garment for winter ’11 is the ¾-length coat. Outerwear includes a Harry Palmer-style Mac, a wool duffle and flak jacket inspired casual jackets. For dressing up, choose the one-button shawl collar dinner jacket in herringbone and wear it with tailored trousers and bib front dinner shirt. For the weekend, pair the cable-knit cardigan or Aran crew neck with slim straight jeans. Layer in a lightweight granddad and brushed check shirt. For kicking back at home, try the fleece jogger or woven check Shag Pant with vintage-styled sweat or fleece hoody.

Accessories are key to creating the final look, with a Homberg, a Flat Cap and a Cricket Cap being the hero pieces. Polka dot silk scarves in navy/ivory or red/ivory are a stylish finishing touch.

The collection is named for Jack Farrell, aka Jack the Giant Killer. Jack was a notable dresser, a Stoke-on-Trent native, who lived a hard life but lived it well. A strong man, Jack believed in honesty, integrity, good manners and a sense of honour. The Farrell range was created to honour Jack’s legacy, the result is a collection that balances past influence with modern male style.

The AW11 collection will be sold exclusively through House of Fraser department stores, houseoffraser.co.uk and online department store very.co.uk. Future collections will be available across Europe. Retail prices start at £35 for lightweight t-shirts, through £125 for knits, to £350 for the Banks-wool ¾ length coat.
