Real Madrid have revealed their shirts for the forthcoming 2011/12 season and there’s probably more than a little bit of a psychological edge in their decision to trim them with Gold.

Since Jose Mourinho took over Real Madrid last summer, the rivalry between Madrid and Barcelona has reignited into one of the fiercest and closely contested battles played out on the pitch, in the media and everywhere else, so with the new Real Madrid kit launched today and the Barcelona kit launched last week, can we say that Real have the upper-hand going into the 2011/12 season?

Real seem to be planting a holier-than-thou subliminal symbol for referees, commentators and players with their eye catching gold trim. With Mourinho’s team’s record with red cards in the big games, that might not be the worst idea.
