Come what may, The Avengers will be one of the biggest films ever when it’s released next year and it finally started shooting yesterday.

The Avengers will star Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man and Hawkeye. Those are all fictional characters from comic books and other movies and while we could focus on their real identities as regular old actors, in the context of the forthcoming film; The Avengers, it’s way more fun to think of them as superheroes. No Robert Downey Jr, no, Iron Man, yes.

The bringing together of some of pop culture’s biggest icons after multi-multi-million dollar blockbusters essentially acting as backdrops, The Avengers is one of the most ambitious and exciting Hollywood projects in recent years and it finally started shooting yesterday, how do we know?
