NEWS : Sony’s PlayStation Tablets, The S1 and S2 (Dual Screen) Revealed

Sony have revealed their new PlayStation tablets, currently named the S1 and S2 and we’re are just months away from their release.

When we told you earlier this month that Sony were getting ready to launch their PlayStation tablet, we didn’t expect this. Not only did we get one tablet, the S1, we also got a new innovation, the Sony S2 Powered By PlayStation which has a dual screen.

Announced a a Sony Press event in Tokyo yesterday, the S1 and S2 were confirmed as Android 3.0 tablets with the PlayStation branding. The S1 is a 9.4-inch screen with front and rear-facing cameras and curved wrap design which is intended to resemble a folded magazine. The S1 can also be used as a remote to control all of your Sony gear thanks to an integrated infrared.

The S2, is a dual-screen “clamshell” tablet with a pair of 5.5-inch 1,024 x 480 displays, the split screen has been designed for split keyboard and messaging displays for email (convenient) and split display and game controllers for PS One gaming (sick).

Both the S1 and S2 are currently at code name level with Autumn 2011 release dates expected to follow.
