When the Marvel worlds finally collide next summer for The Avengers it will be not only one of the greatest achievements in comic book history but also in Hollywood history.

Billions of dollars have been spent and billions more will be spent on The Avengers film once you take into account that both Iron Man films build towards it, the new Thor movie builds towards it, the new Captain America film builds towards it and there are rumours of even more crossover characters in the coming 12 months. So pulling together a whole series of genuine Hollywood blockbusters will be one of the greatest achievements in film history when it finally happens next year.

The awesome Nick Fury cameo in Iron Man 2 will reportedly be followed-up with appearances in Thor and Captain America and now we have news that Avenger Hawkeye will debut in the universe during an extended scene in Thor. According to cinemablend.

Jeremy Renner is playing Hawkeye in Avengers but now we know that the first place you’ll see the character is in Thor this summer. The scene we saw featured Renner as Hawkeye, working with the infamous Agent Coulson, played as he was in the Iron Man movies, by Clark Gregg. The scene features Hawkeye using his famous bow and arrow and he has multiple lines, so while we’re talking about something a little more than a momentary cameo, there’s no way to know if his involvement will go any further than that one scene.

This kind of promo costs millions upon millions of dollars but between Marvel’s Spider-Man, X-Men, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers and DC’s Batman, Superman and Green Lantern the cinemas will be owned by comic book characters for the foreseeable future so it’s probably worth it.
