Apple have reportedly pushed back the iPhone 5 until Autumn at the earliest to focus on their operating systems iOS and Mac OS.

As a kid, did you ever have an aunt, uncle, grandma or other family member who you’d go and see from time to time and they’d always have a treat for you? Sweets, toys, a slice of cake, whatever. Well, we Apple fans are like children in a lot of ways and when we went to WWDC in 2007 (Apple Worldwide Developers Conference) we were given the first ever iPhone and every year since Apple have given us another special treat. This year Steve Jobs and co. obviously think we’re now too old to be treated like kids and despite all the signs pointing toward the iPhone 5 at this year’s WWDC event in June, there will be no iPhone 5 reveal according to reports.

With tickets for the event selling out in record time, Apple obviously felt the need to curb the excitement from expectant fans, with senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing [autograph please?] Phillip Schiller offering “At this year’s conference we are going to unveil the future of iOS and Mac OS,” While Apple have a record of elusiveness and this could possibly be a red herring, the likelihood that they’d mislead shareholders and the stock market this close to the event are slim.

The new rumours have the iPhone 5 unveiled in September.
