Katy B has admitted that she auditioned for the role as Hermione and was rejected after admitting she’d never read the Harry Potter books.

In an interview with The Guardian Katy B has revealed that her ambitions to perform as a child saw her audition for the role of Annie which was “the first time I had to sing.” The club favourite whose debut album On A Mission is released next week says she also auditioned to play Hermione in the Harry Potter films when she was eight “I auditioned to be Hermione in Harry Potter as well. They were like, ‘Have you read the book?’ I was like, ‘No.’ ‘Next!’”

There’s got to be video footage of that audition somewhere in the world no? We’d love to see that.
