NEWS : Cool & Dre Lift Skream’s La Roux Remix For The Game’s New Mixtape

Written by Tego Sigel on 25 Jan 2011

Did Cool & Dre do enough to Skream’s remix of In For The Kill to justify calling it an original production?

It became a trend a couple of years ago for US hip-hop producers to sample European dance records, adding very little and calling them original productions. This time it’s Cool & Dre who are the guilty party haven taken Skream’s legendary remix of La Roux’s smash single In For The Kill, thrown a couple of drums on top and given it to The Game as their own work.

Skream has taken the reworking of his remix as flattery and insists he has no problem with the song which you can listen to below.

It seems Twista may not be too happy about song stealing on The Game’s new mixtape either “hold da fuck up i know the game aint just jack my guys @lepbogusboys song called “the kill” please somebody tell me this aint soo”.

You can download The Game’s new mixtape Purp & Patron which features guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, Fabolous and more for free here.
