In her interview with RWD for the brand spanking new issue, Nicki Minaj revealed that the pestering of Amber Rose got her a shot at working with Kanye West.

In Nicki Minaj’s explosive interview in the new issue of RWD [read here] she spoke about wanting to hook-up with Prince William, give The Queen a wig and a whole lot more. One of her most sensational revelations though was that her show-stealing verse on Kanye West’s Monster would probably not exist had it not been for Yeezy’s ex-Amber Rose.

When asked about first working with Kanye; Ms Barbie recounted “Well I was great friends with Amber Rose when they were dating and she had recommended me to him for his album and I guess he finally relented [laughs]. One day I got a call from her and she said Kanye wanted me to come down to Hawaii and record for the album” continuing “He told me I could pick what I wanted to be on, I heard the beat for Monster, I fell in love with it, that’s how the Monster verse happened. When it came to me putting my album out, I was like ‘I can’t have an album without Kanye, we has to be a part of it’.” The pair’s relationship has since blossomed “He’s become my mentor, he gives me advice, he hits me, he takes random pictures off-line and says ‘Oh this is a good picture of you’. He’s really into fashion so he’s a good person to have a well-rounded conversation with.”
