Mark Ronson and his friend Sean Lennon, the son of John Lennon, used to stay over at Michael Jackson’s house as kids. What an incredible sentence.

Mark Ronson says he used to stay over at Michael Jackson’s house as a kid. A lot of people used to stay over at Michael Jackson’s house as kids, that’s a matter of public record, he said as much in that documentary. Indeed.

Ronson, who would stay at the King of Pop’s home with John Lennon’s son Sean, only had one fear about staying at MJ’s house though; that his friends at school would find out “If I bragged about it I knew that one of two things would happen: a) the kids would think that I was full of s**t or b) they would think I was obnoxious and I’d get a slap for it. All in all, it was better to say nothing.” there was a kid in my school whose uncle was former Arsenal, Everton and Besiktas striker Kevin Campbell and it’s all anybody would ever talk about, if I stayed over at Michael Jackson’s house regularly I’d basically be a god. You missed a trick there Mark, you could have lived a Platinum selling producer’s lifestyle in the playground.

    And yet Ronson makes no allegations.

    How odd that the ‘children’ who apparently did came from families where one father was an extortionist with a history of violence, and the other where the mother was repeat welfare cheat offender who previously extorted J.C Penney?

    It is understandable that the slurs, insults and attacks on Michael Jackson’s name and reputation continue — as can be clearly seen by the media’s reluctance to drop the perjorative moniker of ‘jacko.’

    For a clutch of reasons that include: the decline of factually accurate journalism and its substitution for an industry of hacks chasing down celebrity targets in its place, and the ascension of profit-at-any-cost as a preferred mandate over reporting of value — American and international public opinion never got to hear the truth about 1993 and 2005.

    The evidence supporting the reality of Evan Chandler’s extortion, along with the non-existence of any correlation between Jordan Chandler’s description and the intimate photographs of Jackson; were facts either ignored or denied by the press in 1993, and since.

    Helped to no small degree by Jackson’s own dependence on plastic surgery, which meant almost anything and everything the press wrote or broadcast about him was believed — allegations and rumours based on nothing more than either circumstantial evidence or the word of ‘bought’ witnesses were given credence and visibility by an industry eager for ratings and revenue — with far-reaching and devastating consequences for Jackson.

    In 2005, the same invested District Attorney and same civil lawyer from 1993, along with a family of almost sublimely deceitful grifters attempted a second extortion. They failed, and Jackson was acquitted — but in real terms he lost.

    Press coverage around the world assumed Jackson’s guilt, and notably, no questions were asked afterwards as to how and why a case whose viability was on a par with a BP oil pipe, was sanctioned in the first place. Jackson never recovered from that case, and he was clearly driven to an early death by the toll of such sustained pressure.

    If not for America’s addiction to liabilty lawsuits and the predators that unlimited damages attract (including the attorneys) — together with the utterly biased media commentary from 1993-2005 onwards -it is doubtful whether Jackson’s issues with prescription medicine would have escalated to the point they did.

    Existing media commentary and the wealth of offensive public blog about Mr Jackson on the web, indicates just how much ignorance still exists about the largely unacknowledged facts and real injustice Jackson faced during his life.

    In time it is to be hoped this will change.
