A powerful line up of the hottest names on the UK underground has been added to the bill for the inaugural MOBO Tour which will hit six major cities around the UK this October.  Headlined by Skepta, fans of grime, British hip hop, UK funky and dancehall will be counting down the days to see him share the stage with buzz artists of the moment Scorcher, Donae’o, Maverick Sabre, Mz Bratt, Aggro Santos, Jodie Connor, and freshly tipped newcomers RD (aka Ruff Diamondz) and Angel who co wrote the number #1 smash hit Green Light, by Roll Deep.

MOBO founder, Kanya King said: “As part of our 15th anniversary celebrations, we are delighted to reveal the full line-up of the inaugural MOBO Tour which will give fans across six UK cities the chance to discover some of the UK’s hottest new acts. In partnership with PRS for Music Foundation, Urban Development and Arts Council England we’re proud to celebrate the amazing talent of these rising stars who reflect the unstoppable success of new black music.”

We recently caught up with tour headliner Skepta, to find out what he has in store for fans when he hits the stage in October…

What sort of show can people expect from you?

I’ll be performing my classics as like Too Many Man and Doin It Again, as well as what’s on the new album Doin It Again. I really want my show to really bring that grime and I just wanna smash it cuz.

Which of the other performing artists are you looking forward to seeing the most?

I’d like to see Scorcher’s show. He’s a good artist and he’s not trying to pigeonhole himself either and I like people like that. He’s got clarity, he’s got good things to say, a good persona and the girls like him so I wanna see how far he’s progressed.

What does the name MOBO mean to you?

I think it’s important cos we don’t get that many awards to go to as a scene. And now over here we’re all doing well and that’s the next level. We should be at the MOBOs and we should be getting nominated. I’ve been to the MOBOs for the past three years and I’m being recognised so it’s a good thing still.

If you could perform one song at the awards, which would you do?

I think it would be my new one Cross My Heart with Preeya Kalidas. If I could only perform one song for the rest of my life cuz it would be that.
