You did really well with your single Candy, what is the next goal for you?
I wanna hopefully have another Top 10 single with my new single, Saint Or Sinner…
…Candy, I’ve just re-recorded it in Spanish and Portuguese and it’s going out in Europe so at the moment I hope they both do well.
How many languages do you speak?
I speak three; Spanish, Portuguese and English.
Does that give you another string to your bow?
Yeah, but it’s not the biggest part of what I do. It’s just something I can do and I do throw in there.
Candy has got quite a few plays on my iPod, I’m not even gonna lie…
Is it? That’s good, that’s good. Hopefully it’s in your top 10 plays, right?
Na… I’m not sure about the top 10. There is some grime and dubstep there that I ruthlessly listen to but it’s up there. Were you surprised/ thankful that you got such a good response?
I was obviously very grateful that I got that response. It sort of secured me a slot so I could go on to release my album. It also gave me the opportunity to go on and release another single. When you’re building up to releasing a first single, you never know. This was the first time I’ve ever had anything available to buy properly so I remember the week before I was just thinking I’d be happy if you could JUST download it and in the first week we got something like 30,000 downloads. Then we got No.5 and it was just really really good.
What did your friends and family say?
You know what? It helped out because my mum always wanted me to have something else going on the side. Even when I got signed she still wasn’t sure. [Getting a No.5] was just a certificate for her that she should just support me, which was good. Rather than nagging at me.
When you choose the girls in your videos – we hope you get to choose – how do you know if you’ve got a saint or a sinner?
Yeah, I get to choose [laughs]. Usually you can tell from the first conversation. You just know what you’re dealing with. If a girl is already mentioning, ‘Yeah, so, where are you lot going after this?’ or ‘Are you staying in town tonight?’ you know she’s a sinner. If she says, ‘I’m a really big fan of yours; it was nice to meet you…’

What do you prefer saints or sinners?
I like a bit of both. I don’t like no full-off bad girl with no bad off attitude. I like a good girl with a little naughty side. You can’t have an extreme of one or the other. If there was a meter with saint on one side and sinner on the other, I hope it’s a little bit closer to the saint side. They’ve got to have a little bit of sin in there.
On your CD artwork for Saint Or Sinner there are two sides (dark and light), describe your two sides. What are the worst things and the more honourable things you do?
I think the worst thing I do is the best thing I do at the same. Because I am so focused on music and everything it takes up every single minute of every single day. That is good but it’s the worst thing I do as well. It’s got to the point where I just throw everything else out and I know it pisses off a lot of people in my household but I’m working on it.
