NEWS : Alex Turner Pens ‘Submarine’ Soundtrack

More news of the Arctic Monkeys’ frontman’s solo efforts are in and it seems Alex Turner is well ready to submerge on his own…

Alex Turner has written the soundtrack for a new British movie called ‘Submarine’ and it seems he will be linking up with Arctic Monkeys’ producer James Ford for the project. Ford, who has worked with Klaxons, is well known for his Simian Mobile Disco venture and of course production with Turner on his brief stint as one half of The Last Shadow Puppets.

The two are linking up with the film’s legendary director, Richard Ayoade – he of IT Crowd, The Mighty Boosh and Nathan Barley fame – after Richard directed the Monkeys’ tour film, At The Apollo. The film itself is a comedy which ‘follows a 15 year-old boy with two objectives: To lose his virginity before his next birthday, and to stop his mother from leaving his father for her dance teacher.’ Sounds jokes.
