NEWS : Sony Unveil Their 3D Line-up… RIGHT NOW!!! – [Live Blog]

Written by Danny Walker on 10 Jun 2010

Ok, so I’m at a Sony event RIGHT NOW, looking at their latest range of 3D enabled TVs, Blu-ray players and 3D PS3 games… SICK!!!

Seriously as I type I’m wearing some cool/ ridiculous glasses… (Picture attached, hopefully) they are chrome and black with a tiny power button on the bottom.

I’m currently watching a series of trailers on a PS3 which include Gran Turismo in 3D. The cars look crazy. There is also Wipeout HD, Killzone 2, MotorStorm Pacific Drift and another title called Super Stardust HD.

The latter is just like the classic arcade shoot-em up around the planets and looks kinda big in 3D as apposed to its 2D cousin. It is obviously one of those entry level games that just tries to show off the technology.

Gran Turismo looks the best so far, it looks pretty insane.

10.40 Update: Just playing the entry live title that I just mentioned, Super Stardust HD… It’s actually ok… A bit basic but I see it as one of those addictive games that the family get hooked on. This better be £3.99 or less.

10.45 Update: Super Stardust HD is actually out TODAY and if you already own it, it will ‘update and play through your PS3.’ You obviously need a 3D enabled TV though, and they ain’t cheap.

11.05 Update: “Keep your eyes on E3,” one of the taller demonstrators has just told me.

11.10 Update: My eyes hurt.

11.30 Update: Ok, so my eyes have to adjust to what they’re witnessing I feel, is is nothing to do with the geeks in this room (me included) or the technology. Which is good cos one of these Sony Bravia’s will set you back a grand (or two). I believe we’re watching everything on a HX903 – well that’s what they say. What I’ve noticed is that whenever there is no singal on the screen the glasses go into standby mode. Kinda big.

11.40 Update: Damn, time to go back to the office. This shall be completed later.

12.00 Update: Images and press release…
