NEWS : Jodie Connor Rolls Deep

The Oldham born singer/songwriter is the secret ingredient behind Roll Deep’s chart-topping exploits with summer-smash Good Times. The artist has always had big aspirations, from competing in (and generally winning) talents shows around the Northwest as a youngster, to emulating pop-princess Cheryl Cole in the future.

The talented entertainer is a qualified performing arts student so wouldn’t be as challenged as other up-and-coming singers to get to grips with intense dance routines, plus she has a proven voice in the musical mainstream. In the latest RWD mag we brought you the news that Jodie hopes to ‘diversify into an all-acting, all-singing, all-dancing superstar’. The singer told RWD’s Reya, “I’d love to eventually follow in someone like Cheryl Cole’s footsteps and branch out into other avenues like acting or judging a talent show.”

For now though, her attentions lie with being an honorary member of the Roll Deep grime entourage as they prepare for a tour off the back of their single success. She is also busy in the studio working on solo material for an album that is aiming to be dropped later this year. We think that Miss Connor has all the foundations in place, and ammunition on board, to give it all a real good go and fulfil her ambitions.
