Puff reaches out to the Boy Better Know member via Twitter…
When P. Diddy announced that he’s about to sign a London MC on Twitter last Friday, it sent the social networking site into a frenzy over who it might be.
@iamdiddy: “About 2 sign my 1st rapper from London. I can’t tell u who it is-but Ive wanted to sign an artist from the UK my whole life-LONDON STANDUP!!”
We’re still none the wiser as to who from the LDN will be plying his trade at the famous Bad Boy Records, but another landmark Puff-UK moment occurred this morning when Diddy asked grime producer and MC, Skepta to get in touch with him.
The hip hop honcho begun proceedings by asking his followers from England’s capital to suggest someone who could provide a grime remix of his new single Hello Good Morning
@iamdiddy: “Hey london I want to do a grime re mix of hello goonmornin! Who should do it?”
Skepta’s fellow Boy Better Know member and younger brother JME immediately took up the cause and asked his 17,000+ followers to suggest Skeppy and it looks like it has done the trick.
@iamdiddy: “@Skepta the people said we should talk. Dm me a contact! Let’s gooooooo!!!”
Diddy followed this up by proclaiming his long standing love for the UK genre.
@iamdiddy: “4 the record I’ve always been a fan of grime I remember the 1st time I heard it! Blew my mind. This is the 1st song I had that it could work.”
We for one hope this comes off and can’t wait to hear the end result. Puff did after all invent the remix! Initial talks have begun with the pair conversating:

And then Diddy concluded with a message of support for the rest of the UK artists.
@iamdiddy: “Shoutout to all the uk artist!!! Much respect from the dirty money crew! We makin that new black futuristic soul music and your ALL invited!”
