So after over a decade of waiting patiently, are the fans of Dr. Dre finally going to get to indulge in the highly anticipated album Detox later this year? All the signs are looking good.
No, this is not a late April Fools prank from the RWD team, we don’t think it is anyway (although we hope you enjoyed our actual April Fools story last Thursday), Dr. Dre told CNBC yesterday that he is set to release his new single Under Pressure which features Jay-Z in two weeks. The doc revealed, “Hopefully we’ll be releasing that in the next two weeks or so, and I’m definitely going to be putting the album out this year finally, and I think everyone’s gonna be happy with it.”
This was further good news for Dre fans, after ten years in the making, the Aftermath maestro was pretty convincing when he delivered the news that his Detox album will be released later this year, with Interscope records. As well as the link up with your man Jigga, other notable, prospective, collaborates include Nas, T.I. Lil Wayne and R. Kelly. Watch this space!
Talking about the new music on the album, the yesteryear N.W.A member said, “I’m just putting my all into what I’m doing, trying to make sure that it’s something that I’m gonna be proud of and of course not embarrass myself or anybody that I’m working with.” Before continuing, “I’m just tryin’ to finish this record, finally get it done and get it out, and start promoting it.”
