Whilst readying his debut album, Roska of Rinse Recordings fame, wants to take the sound global…

Speaking to RWD Magazine in the forthcoming April issue, south London’s Roska is ready to take on The States. “I haven’t been to America yet,” the DJ/ producer tells us of his travels. “I’m going in April. But in Switzerland and Sweden, they really love the sound. Some of the tracks have got that deep, minimal house influence, they can relate to it. And garage and dubstep as well. So it’s good to play there. Cos funky’s got a diverse sound, people can really relate to it. It does really roll abroad, I was quite surprised.”

So clocking up some good sets in the US is definitely on Roska’s  to do list… “Yeah definitely. To be honest, I haven’t got many places I really wanna play, but I just wanna spread the sound as far as possible. Playing in America in April is kind of a blessing. Not really many funky DJs can say they’ve gone to America to play.”

Roska releases his self-titled debut early April on Rinse Recordings.
