The queen of Hip Hop Soul has spoken…
When she’s not performing at the Grammys, judging on the panel of American Idol and being great in general, MJB is giving props to the new generation of rappers.
Speaking in the latest issue of RWD, Mary let loose on her favourite rapper of choice. “If it’s not Jay-Z who’s the king, then Drake is amazing,” she tells us in regards to the last hip hop album she listened to. “Lil Wayne – sheesh! Those guys are smart. With Drake’s Best I Ever Had, that song was so important to me. Like, it made so many women feel special. He’s the one saying something that the older generation of rappers used to say about women.
